After school I left my home in northern KZN to go and study at Onderstepoort’s Faculty of Veterinary Science in Pretoria.

After graduating in 2004, I started working in a mixed animal practice in the Swartland, Western Cape. I had a different vision about how I want my career to develop, which led me to starting my own veterinary hospital in 2005.

In 2012/2013 we started a satellite branch in Big Bay, and it didn’t take me long to know it is time to return to the ocean, and pursue my career further in companion animals, especially small animal surgery, both orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. I believe in creating a space where likeminded people can function and thrive at their very best, without compromising on quality of life.

'When I am not working, I like to ride motorcycles in isolated areas, kayaking our amazing coast line, rock climbing etc. We live in an amazing city, and I am proud of being part of a community where the human-animal lifestyle is so closely integrated.’

I cannot imagine my life without animals in it. I live on a farm with my horses, dogs, house cats, cattle, sheep and pigs.

Needless to say, I was a vet in a mixed animal practice for 10 years,

before going exclusively small animals.

When I'm not at the practice I'm probably out and about in the field spending time with my lovely horses.

I started in small animal practice in Johannesburg. I moved to Cape Town at the end of 2013 for a more relaxed pace of living. I found my work family at Bergzicht Animal Hospital in 2018 and have loved being a part of all the changes and growth of the practice with amazing colleagues and our ever patient and smiling reception staff.

I really enjoy being a part of our clients lives, from getting a new puppy and helping with the dreaded house training to assisting them through their golden years.

When I'm not being a vet, I enjoy family time with my husband and 2 children, cooking, walking my two magical crossbreed dogs, Lego and Flo-Flo, reading and watching TV.

I am owned by a Scottish Terrier named Beinn (pronounced Ben), which means ‘mountain’ in Gaelic.

It was a privilege for me to have grown up on a farm in the Free State, surrounded by many animals, but I was always happiest with our dogs.

Even at that young age, I understood the connections that people have with their pets. So, it was no surprise that at about six years old, I already knew that I wanted to be a veterinarian.

I’m grateful to have achieved my lifelong dream and qualified as a veterinarian from the University of Pretoria in 2013. After qualifying, I worked at one of the large hospitals in Cape Town until 2021 when I joined the Bergzicht-family, this provided many learning opportunities.

I love the science, the challenges of internal medicine and the art of soft tissue surgeries.

I believe in treating my patients the same way as I would want my furry-family member to be treated.

Since I can remember, I played with my toy stethoscope, listening to my dog’s heart. From a young age, helping and saving animals has been my greatest passion.

I come from a small coastal town called Kleinmond. After finishing high school, I pursued my lifelong calling of becoming a veterinarian and graduated from the University of Pretoria (Onderstepoort) in 2018. After completing my community service year, I have worked in small animal practice, where I enjoy every aspect of private practice and truly love building lasting relationships with my patients and their owners.

I believe in living life to the fullest and embracing every adventure. When I’m not at the practice, I enjoy running with my dogs, spending time at the beach, being outdoors, swimming, and cycling.

I am incredibly blessed to be joining the Bergzicht - family and look forward to meeting you and your four-legged children.

I'm an empath with an endearing compassion for animals. I graduated as a Professional Nurse  (Baccalaureus Technologiae Nursing Science) in 2018; although this was a magical experience, my passion has, and always will be, to work with animals. I qualified as an Animal Behaviourist (DipCABT) in 2022 to broaden my knowledge and understanding on the emotional experiences of our furry-friends thus, enabling me to treat animals holistically.

In my free time, I enjoy jogging, being on outdoor adventures; at the beach, or on a trail.

I'm at my happiest spending quality time with my six fur-rescues and being actively involved in anything and everything animal-related!

Since a child it has always been my dream to work with animals. I am grateful to be living that dream of being a veterinary nurse and working with a team that has a passion and dedication towards helping animals.

I am passionate about caring for each patient and making my best efforts to care for every patient’s physical and emotional well-being throughout their stay at Bergzicht Animal Hospital.

In my spare time I enjoy running, hiking, going for beach walks with my family and taking advantage of the beautiful sights of Cape Town.

I am a passionate and dedicated veterinary nurse who qualified at Onderstepoort in 2018, and a proud dog mom to 2 pekingese dogs named Ezra and Oakley. We recently relocated from Pretoria to enjoy the beautiful scenery Cape Town has to offer. 

In my spare time, I have the privilege of hiking, exercising, going on adrenaline-inducing activities and taking my fur babies for beach walks.

Being in private practice with such an amazing group of compassionate people, who are wholehearted animal lovers, is immensely rewarding.
